It is a great pleasure and honour for me to extend, on behalf of the Asia-Pacific Sociological Association (APSA), our warmest welcome to the members of APSA in particular our Indonesia colleagues, scholars, scientists, researchers and policy planners to join with us the 9the Conference of APSA in Bali, Indonesia, June 13-15, 2009.

The conference will be held at the Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel in Kuta, Bali, Indonesia on June 13 - 15, 2009. It is organised by the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the University of Indonesia.

APSA is an academic association that has a number of goals. APSA prides itself in the fact that its membership reflects the diversity of cultures, nations, ethnicities, and perspectives from across the Asia Pacific region. Its executive committee is constructed to reflect this diversity. APSA is affiliated with the International Sociological Association.
